Celebrating 5 years! The Waterlodge journey so far…

2023 marked Waterlodge’s fifth year in business and what a journey it has been so far, since the first idea of starting up the company began. Thank you to our team and customers for making this possible. We have big plans for the future and cannot wait to carry on developing the Waterlodge range and supporting the UK staycation market.

Launching Waterlodge – how it all began…

Waterlodge was founded by Ian Watkins and Andrew Hyland. Previously enjoying long, successful careers in boat sales they recognised a gap in the market and launched the business in 2018. The idea was to offer a stylish, affordable alternative to those purchasing boats to live on rather than sail, the Waterlodge was a pioneering concept brought to life with the pair’s determination and dedication.

With a marked decline in traditional boating due to rising costs and impracticalities of maintaining a boat, Ian and Andy wanted to offer a refreshing solution to those who love living on the water but are put off by the associated costs. With the pandemic increasing the demand for staycations and second homes, they thought a Waterlodge would encouraging people to consider different ways of life.

Making waves in the industry

Waterlodge initially launched with the Oasis range and in the last five years has grown the model range to include three other variants: Eden, Mirage  and Landlodge. All the models pair intelligent, contemporary design with optimal use of space to create luxury living for those onboard.

Over the years, Waterlodge has toured around the UK, attending and exhibiting at many marine and holiday park industry trade fairs and exhibitions, which has helped them to network and partner with marinas such as Aquavista, Lakeland Leisure and Liverpool Marina to offer 17 marina locations for their customers to choose from. They have also partnered with some great businesses, like Blue Tech and Yarmouth Harbour, to help increase their knowledge and expertise of the industry, so they can offer their customers the best products.

Thrilled with our Airbnb venture

Due to a recent partnership with Yarmouth Harbour, we are now on Airbnb, a huge moment for Waterlodge! Brand new to 2023, you can now rent our Waterlodges Oasis range in Yarmouth Harbour and enjoy the perfect holiday experience all year round in the Isle of Wight.

Not only does this allow visitors to enjoy a unique rental experience, but also gives people the opportunity to try the Waterlodge experience before buying. We are delighted to be able to offer this and are thrilled with the fantastic feedback happy holidaymakers have given so far.
